Through application and practice, he has become an accomplished singer, artisan, storyteller, and historian.
Vincent has had a varied background throughout his employment history. Vincent left school early and started in construction, which he did for 16 years. Throughout that time, he worked from the West Coast through the Interior and down to Vancouver. After more schooling, he secured work at the PG Native Friendship Centre as well as CNC as a trainer. Through this work, he made key contacts and secured work as a community development intern. For the next 17 years, he became an accomplished community development worker. In this time, he has seen the successful start-up and running of over 250 Aboriginal businesses throughout BC.
Vincent went on to start Nu Yiz Boat Tours, a successful small family business in Fort St. James. Vincent expanded and developed his cultural skills and explored his history and culture. Through application and practice, he has become an accomplished singer, artisan, storyteller, and historian. After a successful run with the business, Vincent was chosen to lead the Young Warriors Program. This leadership and cultural training program, for children 10 to 12 years of age, ran for four years in Nak’azdli. Vincent returned to Prince George in 2011. He is currently involved with several organizations in Prince George as a volunteer and is the Executive Director at the Aboriginal Business and Community Development Centre.
