Opening the gathering and guiding us into the Spark Talks.
Vanessa spent her formative career as a Park Interpreter with BC Parks and Metro Vancouver Parks where she shared her enthusiasm for the natural world with park visitors for over 10 years and Canoe Guiding in Big Canoes on the Salish Sea. Vanessa is now a teacher of 13 years and specializes in Place-Responsive pedagogy in Tier 1 schools. She currently lives and teaches in Prince George, BC in the traditional territory of the Lheidli T'enneh and loves to explore and play with her Dog Banjo throughout the larger territory of the Dakelh. She proudly represents the Recreational Canoeing Association of BC as their President.
