Welcome & Closing Reflections
Jenna is the Director of Indigenous Learning for The Outdoor Learning School/Store, a certified teacher of 20 years, a graduate of the Indigenous Teacher Education Program (NITEP), holds a Master’s of Special Education and is the former VP for Indigenous Learning and Equity for the Rocky Mountain School Board. In 2025, she graduated from the Secwépemc Language Fluency Certificate Program.
Jenna is on a lifelong learning journey that explores her culture, traditional teachings, languages, and Knowledge of nature. She believes that Indigenous perspectives weave effortlessly with outdoor, experiential, and place-based learning. Her dream is to give learners of all ages the chance to explore, learn, and immerse themselves in the outdoors, and Indigenous perspectives and Knowledge.
Jenna lives at the headwaters of the Columbia River, which runs through and is the unceded territories of her ancestors, the Secwépemc and Ktunaxa people.
Keynote Speaker

An inspiring keynote on hope, possibility, and lighting a way forward. Monique shares how a stranger’s simple words sparked her path as a writer, reminding us of the power in sharing our light. She’ll explore how love, joy, and everyday practices can help us educate hearts, minds, and spirits, even in challenging times while offering readings from her books.
Provocative Panel Presentations
Following our inspiring keynote, our program features two rounds of Provocative Panel Presentations. These 1-hour, interactive sessions will include 3 extraordinary educators sharing their successes, challenges and stories with a focus on Growing Networks related to place, land, climate change, food literacy and other priorities in education today. Prepare to be energized!
Place and Land-Based Field Experiences
In addition to our Virtual Conference on the morning of Friday, October 24, C2C 2025 also features a variety of optional, in-person Field Experiences offered by partners around the province. Registration for field experiences is separate from the virtual portion of the conference. You will receive a registration link after you have registered for the morning virtual conference. Please note that some field experiences require an additional fee due to the nature of the activities involved.
